Sundays in the Park plus Dance Camps

Sundays in the Park:

The July 18th “Sundays in the Park” was a success!!  It was amazing to share live music/dance with so many wonderful folks from near and far, and we appreciated the support of participants as BFS presented our first in-person event since March 2020.

What a treat to explore Irish & Irish-American music and dance with Alden Robinson, Junior Stevens, Miles Isacke, and Jackie O’Riley! The musicians’ workshop, the dance workshop, the concert, and the Belfast Bay Fiddlers’ jam all had healthy attendance, and the donations at the door helped offset some of the program expenses. Thank you to everyone who participated, whether volunteering, playing, dancing, listening, watching, providing sound, or contributing!

We’re looking forward to the remaining Sundays in the Park events on August 22 (Franco-American music/dance) and October 3 (Cape Breton music/dance)!

Here are several video snippets from Sunday, July 18 (including reminders of workshop content).

Folks continue to share that they really want to do connected folk dancing again!  Our first Friday series remains on hiatus, and we’ll keep you posted as soon as we’re ready to welcome a hall full of contra dancers and All Comers Band musicians.  Meanwhile… a few trad dance camps are happening this summer, in Maine and beyond! Here’s some info:
