At our September 6 dance, we welcomed a joyful demonstration of dances in the Scottish country dance tradition. The fall session has just commenced. Here’s the basic info, plus a downloadable flyer:
Join the fun of Scottish Country Dancing! You don’t have to be Scottish, wear a kilt, or even speak English to enjoy it. There are branches of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society the world over, from Boston to Bangkok, with classes, parties and balls open to all. Come and dance – with whoops and hollers during jigs and reels, punctuated by stately strathspeys (unique to Scottish music.) Young and old, singles and couples – are all welcome.
- Beginners Class – Mondays, 6:00 – 8:00 pm (starting Sept. 9)
- Experienced Class – Mondays, 7:30 – 9:30 pm (year round)
- American Legion Hall, 143 Church St, Belfast
