Summer in Maine is always uplifting, and lately we’ve had plenty of uninterrupted (Real!) Rays of Sunshine. In the virtual realm, we updated our June 24 Rays of Sunshine post with digital ways to stay connected to our community, especially music and dance traditions, while we’re waiting to resume in-person programming.
Today’s Ray of Sunshine is our local library – The Belfast Free Library – which continues to serve patrons of all ages through in person library visits, curbside delivery, inter-library loan (it’s back!), and more.
The above video highlights digital resources that are available through the BFL website:
- e-books and e-audiobooks on CloudLibrary
- movies on Kanopy
- craft projects on Creativebug
- self-publishing and a variety of other resources on Biblioboard
- a multitude of information resources through the Digital Maine Library
The Belfast Free Library collection also includes contra dance DVDs, dance-related children’s books, scholarly works about trad dance, and teaching resources for educators, community leaders, and families.
Hurrah for public libraries!
