Puttin’ On the Dance: Conference for Dance Organizers

BFS a co-sponsor for Puttin’ on the Dance (POTD3), a weekend gathering just for dance organizer, held here in beautiful Belfast Maine!

Puttin’ on the Dance (POTD) convenes dance organizers from across the Northeastern United States and Eastern Canada who produce dance events in various North American and British Isles social dance traditions (e.g., barn, Cape Breton, community, contra, English, family, Irish, Quebecois, Scottish, and square). The conference is deeply rooted in the POTD mission and vision.

The objective of this weekend event is to provide resources and opportunities for learning, sharing, renewal, and fun! POTD strengthens networks for sustaining dance organizers, who in turn sustain important traditions of participatory social dance throughout our region. POTD1 launched in Vermont in 2011, POTD2 was in Ontario in 2015, and POTD3 is happening Friday, May 2 – Sunday, May 4, 2025 in Belfast, Maine.
