Balfolk dance party with Eloise & Co (Becky Tracy & Rachel Bell, with Rachel Aucoin on piano) 7:30-10:00 pm on Saturday, January 17, at the First Baptist Church, 95 High St in Belfast (Use entrance in back of the building.) Admission $15-25 sliding scale.
Becky & Rachel B have a passion for bal folk music and dance, saying, “One of the things we love most about these dances is the big variety of styles. There are raucous, energetic party dances like la chapelloise and bourrée. There are groovy Breton dances in lines and spirals that you can really sink into, and then there’s the meditative gavotte de l’aven. There are beautiful couple dances and rondeaus. So excited to share it with all of you!“
