Radio Hour on WBFY~ A monthly program that highlights the roots and branches of the contra dance music we love, here in Belfast and beyond; the musicians who play it with and for others; and the dancers of all ages that it inspires. 6:00 pm at 100.9 FM or streaming. Open Air Kitchen Party with Cindy Larock (step dancing, podorhythmie, spoons, etc), Don Cunningham (guitar, etc) and Doug Protsik (fiddle, accordion, etc) 5:00 step dance tutorial with Cindy (Joys of Quebec!), 5:45 Cindy, Don & Doug’s music showcase, 6:15 Jamming and freestyle step dancing. Remember, Covid has not gone away – let’s all mask up, maintain distance, stay home if sick, and smile behind our mask :)
Sept 18 ~ Sat: BFS is partnering with the MCC to bring Laura Scott (Scottish and Cape Breton dancing) to the Maine Celtic Celebration at Steamboat Landing in Belfast (Canceled, watch for videos on the MCC website)
Sept 17 – 19 ~ Fri – Sun: BFS is partnering with Searsport Shores Campground on their 2021 Strung Together: Old Time & Bluegrass Music Campout. (More info here) Friday night concerts with Sara Grey and John Pranio (plus jam session) Sat afternoon tune workshop with the Montville Project, Sunday waltzing/jamming with the Montville Project plus a few waltz tips from Chrissy Fowler. More good times abound!
