The All Comers Band set of the month for February 1 is Liberty/The Joys of Quebec.
These two perky reels are standards of the Maine repertoire. I learned Liberty by osmosis from the dance floor, as far as I know. Joys of Quebec I learned from the Maine Country Dance Orchestra.
I’ve put a fun chord progression for the chord players – I, iv, ii7, V7 – into the B part of Liberty, and a variation of it into the A part of Joys of Quebec. Have fun!
